Saturday 20th February 2021 is the Gulgong Show Day! The Gulgong Show Society are hosting a full Show with entertainment for everyone! There has been a lot of interest in the Gulgong Show from the local community as it is one of the few local Shows hosting a full Show and is one of the first in the Show calendar for 2021. The full programme and free online Showbook is available on the website www.gulgongshow.org.au. Hardcopies of the Show book are available for $3 at Gulgong Post Office, Cobbs Bakery, Gulgong Timber & Hardware, Gulgong Dispensary, Gulgong Stock & Rural, Gulgong’s Local Art & Craft & Husband’s Saddlery Mudgee.

Part of Gulgong Show’s COVID plan is making the Show contactless as possible. The Show will be a fully ticketed event. All community members entering the gate will either need to get a ticket online through 123Tix or become a member and use their membership ticket. Visit the website to learn about how to secure a ticket.

The Official Show opening will take place at 10am by Hunter White OAM followed by the presentation of Showgirls & Life Members. Entertainment for 2021 Show Day includes the Baby Animal Nursery, Model Train Static Display, Yard Dog Trial Demonstration, Step Up Dance Academy Performance, Interactive Dinosaur Display and the Dragon Training Mobile Zoo will be sharing their passion for wildlife through their hands-on experiences with their wildlife display. There will be plenty of rides and sideshow attractions for all ages too!

The pavilion will be bursting with entries which will include cooking, flowers, photography, art, needlework & much more. Agricultural sections include horses, goats, sheep, wool, poultry & pigeons.

The Show Society have secured some amazing local talent for the musical entertainment. Joel Cummins will be kicking off the day with a bang, followed by Hari Gibbons who will delight everyone with some classics. Then they have a brother and sister duo, Darsharni & Tayvin Martins, that will roll you into the afternoon. And the finale is the gorgeous girls from Déjà Vu who will rock you into the night after the conclusion of the rodeo. All these artists are local talent from our area.

The roving mic will be manned by Andrew Andrews from Magic 87.6. Murphy’s Puppets are back along with regular events like the Mid West Axemens Wood Chop Demonstration, Whip Cracking Competition and the Beaut Comp which is a display of classic cars, motorcycles, engines & tractors on display as part of our Beaut Ute, Car, Bike Truck & Machinery Show. A popular section is the Turtle Memorial Best B&S Related Vehicle.

Due to the growth of the Beaut comp, it will be displayed in the policeman’s paddock to allow for the additional entries and more entries are welcome. There are also a few other sections that take entries on the day like the Whip Cracking competition, Fashions of the Show and the Pet Show. Visit the website to learn how to enter!

Thank you for being part of organizing the show!
It must not be easy even in normal times to try and sort things out, but with the way the world is right now…. we need more people like you Louise.
