Lies can travel quickly, but the truth has a habit of finding its way back to the surface.
Central Coast country singer-songwriter Faith Williams is leaning into that idea on “Home Truths”, a sharp-edged new alt-country single about rumours, chaos and refusing to be dragged into somebody else’s version of the story.
The song is the title track from Williams’ forthcoming debut album, Home Truths, due for release through RTC Records on 18 September 2026.
A country song with some bite
Built on defiance rather than self-pity, “Home Truths” carries a simple message: people may keep spinning their tales, but they do not get to decide who you are.
Williams wrote the song after watching someone reshape the truth depending on the audience. Rather than keep trying to make sense of the drama, she turned the experience into a song that is cheeky, pointed and grounded in knowing exactly where she stands.
“This song is about a girl I knew who seemed to have a different version of the truth depending on who she was talking to. She was the kind of person who could create drama in an empty room, and I think eventually you just get to a point where you stop trying to make sense of it. The song is a little bit cheeky and definitely has some bite, but underneath that it’s really about knowing who you are, standing in your own truth and not getting dragged into somebody else’s chaos.”

Produced by Brandon Dodd of Dingo Music Productions, the track also features Kasey Chambers on backing vocals—a fitting addition to a song that blends contemporary alt-country attitude with honest Australian storytelling.
The many sides of Faith Williams
“Home Truths” also opens the door to Williams’ ten-track debut album of the same name. Rather than settling into one sound, the record moves through love, loss, family, desire, resilience, humour and self-reflection.
The album includes earlier singles “Holy Grail”, “If I Had a Daughter” and “10 to 3”, with the latter spending six weeks on the Countrytown Hot 50 Chart. Across the collection, Williams explores different moods and perspectives while keeping honest storytelling at the centre.
“Home Truths is the album I’ve always wanted to make. I didn’t want my debut to be defined by one sound or one story. I wanted it to introduce every side of me as a songwriter. Every track is different, but they’re all connected by honest storytelling. Whether a song comes from my own life or just within, I hope people can find a piece of themselves in it.”

At 23, Williams is already building a strong place for herself in Australian country music. The Central Coast artist has been singing since childhood, but it was becoming a mother that gave her the confidence to properly pursue music. The strength she found after having her son helped convince her that sharing her voice was not only possible, but worth doing.
In 2025, she received the CCMA New Songwriter of the Year award at the Tamworth Country Music Festival. Her music has since received national support through ABC Country, community radio and major streaming platforms, and she was named ABC Country’s Get to Know Artist of the Month for September 2026.
