Campfire Roundup is our weekly look at everything new around Country Campfire—Australian stories, bush poetry, country music and the voices keeping it all alive.

G’day Campfire Nation,

Two new Legend pages lead this week’s gathering, with Marco Gliori and I.G.Baylis each finding a permanent home for their stories and contributions.

There are also three country music features and five poems to catch up on, with friendship, freedom, bush humour and remembrance all finding a place around the campfire.

Did You Know?

Did you know Country Campfire has a Facebook page? We share new poems, music features and stories there, so it’s another way to keep up with what’s happening around the campfire.

If you’re on Facebook, follow the Country Campfire page. And if a piece brings someone to mind, share it with them—it helps more people discover our contributors and their work.

New Country Campfire Legends

This week we welcome Marco Gliori and I.G.Baylis to their own permanent homes on Country Campfire. From Marco’s years taking bush verse to audiences across Australia to Ian’s love of mountain country and rural history, there are two very different journeys to discover.

Country Music

Three music features bring together Sammy White’s tribute to a much-loved companion, Studio8’s song of freedom and resilience, and Naya Smith’s debut, sparked by a rough day on a remote property.

Keeping The Verse Alive

Five poems from Marco Gliori, I. G. Baylis, Tony Hammill, Poeta De Cabra and David J Delaney take us from a swag beneath the stars to mountain station life, a heavenly Poets’ Breakfast, remembrance and the realities of caravan life.
