G’day Campfire Nation,
Another week around the Country Campfire. It’s been a little quieter than some of our busier weeks, but there’s still a new Contributing Legend, three fresh poems, another podcast episode, new country music and a fascinating slice of Australian history. Here’s what you might have missed.
💡 Did You Know? We’re Looking for Your Favourite Country Recipes!
Country Campfire has a Campfire Cooking section, and we’re keen to fill it with more of the recipes that mean something to everyday country Australians.
Maybe it’s a camp oven favourite, a damper recipe you’ve perfected, your grandmother’s scones, or a family dish that’s been passed down for generations. We’d love to share it.
You don’t need to be a professional cook or writer. Send us the recipe, a few words about its story if there is one, and a photo if you’ve got one. We’ll give you credit when we share it with the Country Campfire community.
🔥 Welcome Gregory North — Our Newest Contributing Legend
This week we welcomed Gregory North as Contributing Legend #26. We’re delighted to give this accomplished Australian bush poet a dedicated home on Country Campfire, where readers can discover his work and follow his contributions.

Tony Hammill takes us back into Australia’s past with Adam Lindsay Gordon: Horseman, Poet and Pioneer, tracing a remarkable life of horsemanship, adventure and poetry.
📜 Keeping The Verse Alive
Three new poems joined our collection this week, beginning with Gregory’s Love Vee-Dubs, celebrating the unmistakable Volkswagen.
