Rach Louise Shares Her Family Story in ‘Gone Too Soon’

For Moree’s Rach Louise, the story behind Gone Too Soon is her own. Written after losing both her dad and her brother within a relatively short period, her second single brings those losses into a song about love, memory and the people we keep carrying with us.

Out Friday, 9 October through RTC Records, the song was co-written with Jake Davey, who also produced the track. It is a deeply personal next step for an artist who has spent the past five years building her place in the live music scene.

A family story, in her own words

The single’s artwork sets the scene before a note is played: an old family photograph, with a father holding two young children and the title written across it. It gives the release a personal connection that a studio portrait alone couldn’t convey.

Rach describes country music as a place where she can be vulnerable and work through difficult experiences. With Gone Too Soon, she is opening that part of her life to listeners.

“Country music has always allowed me to dive into vulnerability and seek healing. This is my chance at sharing a deeply personal story. If you’re out there going through hard times, know that it gets better.”

That invitation to others matters. The circumstances belong to Rach, but the feeling of missing someone—and wanting to hold on to what they meant to you—is something many listeners will recognise. Her own words make clear why she has chosen to share the song.

From Moree’s live music scene to a second single

Based in Moree in northern New South Wales, Rach has been developing her music through live performance, with an acoustic-driven sound and an emphasis on stories drawn from real life. Her biography names Adele, Carrie Underwood and Lainey Wilson among the reference points for her approach, spanning emotional ballads and contemporary country.

This release follows her debut single and puts a particularly intimate story at the centre of that developing catalogue. Working with Davey as both co-writer and producer gives the song a consistent partnership from the writing stage through to the recording.

For Country Campfire, there’s a clear reason to make room for it: an emerging regional artist sharing a story that matters to her, in her own words. We’ll be watching this next step from Moree.
