That is the territory New Zealand country artist Keith Pereira steps into with “Help Me Remember” — a new single carrying the sound and emotional weight of the country music that filled radios and jukeboxes through the 1990s.

Pereira’s connection with country music began young, listening to his uncle’s country radio show in the Middle East. Since then, the New Zealand artist has taken his music well beyond home, touring in Canada, the United States, India and Australia.
He has also worked as a session guitarist and vocalist on the New Zealand productions of Dancing with the Stars and Popstars, and was named Most Promising New Artist at the Trans-Tasman Entertainer of the Year Awards.
That background helps explain why “Help Me Remember” feels so assured. It comes from an artist who knows the traditional language of country music, but has gathered enough miles and experience to make it his own.
