Campfire Roundup — July 26: More Poems, More Legends, More Campfire Stories

by Alex Bender
Campfire Roundup July 26, 2026 featuring new Legend pages, bush poetry, podcast episodes and campground stories from Country Campfire.

Campfire Roundup is emailed to Campfire Nation every Sunday — a quick weekly look at what’s new on Country Campfire, from poems and podcast episodes to campground yarns, Legend pages and stories worth sharing.

G’day Campfire Nation,

Did you see everything that happened on Country Campfire this week?

This week we added two new Legend pages, published three more pieces through Keeping The Verse Alive, released two Bush Poetry Podcast episodes, and shared another campground yarn from outback Queensland.

The campfire keeps getting a little warmer each week.

This week on Country Campfire:

New Legend Pages

This week we welcomed two more contributors to the growing collection of Country Campfire Legend pages.

These pages are designed to give contributors somewhere they’re proud to send people, instead of watching years of work disappear down a social media feed.

Keeping The Verse Alive

Three more poems joined the Keeping The Verse Alive project this week.

Every poem added is another piece of Australian bush poetry preserved for future generations.

Latest from the Bush Poetry Podcast

Two more poems found their way onto the Bush Poetry Podcast this week.

One thing we’re really enjoying is hearing the poets read their own work. It keeps every recording authentic and preserves not just the words, but the voices behind them.

The Campground Project

Another campground joined The Campground Project this week.

Charlotte Plains is famous for its artesian baths, relaxed station atmosphere, campfires and genuine outback hospitality.

A big thank you again to Dani Chook and Winnie Chasing Double Rainbows for sharing another fantastic campground yarn.
