The Bard From The Scrub

Ben Eggleton is an Australian bush poet, songwriter and storyteller whose work captures the characters, landscapes and everyday experiences of rural Australia.

Known as The Bard From The Scrub, Ben has spent years writing original poetry and songs inspired by country life, producing both a self-published book and a collection of original recordings that preserve the stories of the bush in his own unique voice.

Through poetry, music and storytelling, Ben has documented the people, places and experiences that make country Australia unique. His work reflects a deep appreciation for community, family, mateship and the quieter moments of life beyond the city.

Like many independent Australian artists, Ben’s original website has disappeared over time. The Country Campfire Legends Project exists to ensure the stories, music and contributions of people like Ben remain accessible for future generations.

Ben has been part of the Country Campfire story for many years through interviews, podcast appearances and contributions to the Bush Poetry Podcast.
